MARTIAL ARTS

{R}EVOLUTION

No styles, no systems, no rituals, no lineages, no masters, no labels, no belts, no katas, no uniforms, no dogmas;

Only the process of self actualization & personal expression of truth through functional combative movement and fitness.

On a purely physical level, we share how to individually and collectively use all of our natural tools as well as extended ones, offensively and defensively in a strategic and tactical manner and in all ranges of combat.

We're put through functional physical fitness training where we learn to push ourselves through our own perceived limitations. We also have much to offer on nutrition, health and optimum performance.

On a more cerebral level we learn about the psychology of violence, fear, stress & confrontation management skills, deescalation strategies and holistic survival tactics.

As the mind navigates the body; by challenging personal self defense dogmas and individual & core belief systems, personal growth and evolution occurs.

On a human level, we learn about the ripple effect and the moral, legal, and ethical consequences of our chosen actions while self examining our darkest emotions. We are encouraged to question everything, to learn to think for ourselves, to be more accountable and research everything we learn and to be open and responsive to life without judgment.

On a personal level, the training can make you face and slay your own demons.

Everything shared here is highly encouraged to be individually researched, to “absorb what is useful, add what is specifically of your own and disregard the rest.”

Nobody's Hero...

Thought I would make this public rather than just disappearing and answering the same private questions over and over again for the next few years; so here goes.

I came across a quote by a heavily white bearded brother named Walt Whitman a long while ago and it said “Re-examine all that you have been told and dismiss what insults your soul.” And so I did just that, dug pretty deep, came to the personal realization that I’ve been doing the equivalent of farting in the peak and center of a sandstorm and decided to retire indefinitely from the international scene and hand it over entirely to my team and my friend and brother, Chris Roberts of Safe International.

I am retiring indefinitely to be with my family and to be a full time and active father in my son’s life. I ain’t no John Lennon , right Chris? ;`) I say indefinitely and/or until further notice because one never really knows what life brings and I may eventually return to teaching full time at some point in my life; but as things presently stand, I’m done.   I had actually struggled for several years with this decision and there were times, recently included where I came so very close to quitting teaching commercially and/or for a living for good.

And so after years of serious consideration and the arrival of my son making this decision much, much easier; I am handing over Senshido International to my team. I will no longer be travelling internationally to teach. I will still be teaching Senshido, but only locally in Jasper Alberta and anyone wishing to train with me personally can still do so by travelling to Jasper, Alberta Canada with bookings made in advance.  More info here: http://senshidointernational.blogspot.ca/2011/01/jasper-alberta-senshido-international.html For any and all Senshido International seminars/workshops etc. from this point on please refer to the Senshido International Team members closest to you.

I will no longer be publicly writing or posting on Facebook other than to occasionally remain in contact with friends and family and the like. I will no longer be writing for our (or any other) blog other than to advertise potential upcoming workshops and/or camps I may be holding in Jasper Alberta.  All future articles, if any, will be made by the Senshido International Team members.

The Senshido International Team will also no longer grow or expand from this point on as I am no longer accepting new international team members/affiliates and my present team cannot certify anyone in Senshido International. All Senshido certifications are done through me personally.

The remaining Senshido International Team members are the last of the Mohicans so to speak. They are presently the only directly certified by me Senshido International Team members and Instructors fully authorized to teach Senshido as they see fit. Other than the select few members who have expressed interest and have already been conditionally accepted and haven’t yet fully joined the team and are in the present process of doing so will be added to the team, the Senshido International Team will cease to accept new members and applications as of now.

I will no longer be writing articles or doing interviews for any blogs or magazines or the like either. For the future of Senshido International, articles, interviews, anything Senshido related, please go to the Senshido international Team members.

I will no longer be selling nor producing or releasing any instructional materials (other than for and to my local students). Other than the now remaining 26 or so original Senshido DVDs and books written, taught, produced and released by myself and the first generation Senshido Team members in Montreal Canada from 1998 to 2006, I will no longer be releasing, producing or selling any instructional materials of any kind.  Any and all future Senshido International instructional materials will be produced, released and sold via and by my present team if they so choose to do so of course.

For any of the original Senshido International instructional materials (DVDs/manuals/books) please contact Shane Roberts and Christopher Roberts of Safe International for purchase as Safe is now the main international provider of original Senshido International instructional products.

So thank you everyone for the great times, the life lessons, the laughs, the cries and the phenomenal experiences and memories, feel free to keep doing some shit or not, up to you really. :`)

WORD!

Sincerely,
Richard Dimitri
